Guided Fishing Horseback Trip
Our horseback fishing trips take place high in the Weminuche wilderness of Southwest Colorado. We offer 3 and 5 day guided trips out of our comfortable base camps. You will ride out of camp every day to numerous lakes and streams that drain the high country to fish for brook, rainbow, and native cutthroat trout. These trips take you to some of the most remote and scenic spots in Colorado with amazing views of the Needle Mountains. All food, guides and a cook are provided.

Horseback Pack Trips
Our horseback pack trips are similar to the guided fishing trips just without the fishing guide. A wrangler, cook, and food will be provided and you will stay in the same comfortable camps. You can take daily rides to scenic views or secret fishing spots and enjoy all the wilderness has to offer.

Horseback Assisted Hiking Trips
Maybe you want to experience the Weminuche Wilderness but horseback riding isn't your thing? Or carrying a heavy pack all day just isn't for you? Then our horseback assisted trips might be perfect for you. You stay in the same camp and enjoy the same scenery as our other trips. However, you get to hike to our remote camps and enjoy your vacation and leave the rest of the work up to us. All your personal gear will be packed in and waiting for you. All food, guides and a cook are provided.

Progressive Horseback Trips
Because of the vast size of our permit area, Western Sky Outfitters is one of the few outfitting businesses in the Weminuche with the ability to take a progressive horseback trip between our permitted camp locations. These trips are 3 or 5 day experiences that start just north of Durango and end near Purgatory Ski Resort. This is a unique trip where you will travel to a different camp location each day and see all the wilderness has to offer. There is also the option to be picked up by the Durango Silverton Railroad on the last day of the trip to ride back to Durango. All food, guides and a cook are provided. This route can also be done as a horseback assisted hiking trip for a discounted price.
